Resources
The AYNEHA font, documents written in AYNEHA, and links to learn and follow the project.
The Ayneha Pro font
The official AYNEHA font, with its 98 characters: letters, marked forms, diacritics on their own, digits and punctuation. It is free: you may use it, embed it in software or a document, and share it, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
The characters are in Unicode's Private Use Area, from U+10FF7C to U+10FFDD. So that older texts remain readable, the font also contains the former range U+E000 to U+E061.
Installing the font
- On a computer (Windows, macOS, Linux): open the .ttf file, then choose “Install”. The font appears in Word, LibreOffice and your other programs.
- On a phone: the AYNEHA apps already include the font. To write in your other apps, use AYNEHA Keyboard and its Share as image button.
Word and LibreOffice do not yet display AYNEHA correctly from right to left. For a document, the simplest way is to write with the transcriber or the online keyboard, then save as an image.
Never use bold or underline on AYNEHA: they hide the diacritics. Make the text larger instead.
